The Keukenhof botanical garden of the Netherlands welcomed more than 1.1 million visitors in 2022. Speaking on behalf of the botanical garden, the spokesperson said, “This number is way above our expectations.”
Keukenhof was closed for almost 2 years due to coronavirus restrictions. The garden, which was last open in 2019, was visited by 1.5 million people at that time. Keukenhof reopened on 24 March of the year and closed on 15 May.
Local tourists and Dutch made up 25 percent of the visitors. Visitors from Germany, the USA, France and the UK followed. Due to the travel restriction, there was a dramatic decrease in the number of tourists from China and India.
Keukenhof will be open from 23 March to 14 May next year. Tickets will go on sale in October.
