A cute video has emerged of an angry elephant calf charging at vehicles in the Kruger National Park in South Africa.
The footage, shot on November 1, shows the small elephant waving its trunk at the car as it tries to attack it.
‘This young male African Elephant tried to show me and my guests how brave and strong he is,’ the filmer said.
‘Young elephants do this quite often, and many people will move away at the first sign of aggression, but because I have studied animal behaviour, and work in their environment daily, I could easily see that this young elephant was only warning us and wouldn’t do actual damage,’ he said.
‘It is very entertaining to watch them. The secret is to not move your vehicle, and stand your ground.
‘The vehicle I was using was an Open Safari Vehicle, specially converted for safaris.
‘Note how he charges and runs after the smaller private vehicle that drove past me…that is what will happen if you don’t stand your ground.’
I’m the boss around here! This adorable baby elephant charged a vehicle which invaded his territory in Kruger Park, South Africa
It was unimpressed to see the vehicle on the road and ran towards it to assert dominance
The safari vehicle stood its ground as the little elephant ran towards it assertively
But when another vehicle drove up, the elephant charged at it instead, and the car drove off, pursued by the territorial little elephant
