The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is beloved in the skiing and snowboarding world as one of Austria’s top ski areas. Lengthy ski circuits, plenty of activities for families and a rousing après-ski scene place the Skicircus squarely on the alpine map. But all the skiing and other activities can get exhausting, and it’s important to take a break to refuel every now and again! With more than 70 mountain restaurants, the choice can be overwhelming. We’ve compiled a list of our favourite 7 mountain huts at the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn so you can embark on your very own culinary ski safari.
Located at the mountain station of the Schattberg X-press, the SkyRest was recommended to us by one of Saalbach’s ski instructors. The window tables offer a fantastic view over the mountain landscapes and when the weather is nice, you can sit on the terrace outside. The restaurant serves delicious Tyrolean dishes for a reasonable price.

You’ll find the Bergstadl mountain restaurant halfway down a challenging slope that leads towards Hinterglemm. One of the Bergstadl’s specialties is Schiwasser, a syrupy drink made from summer ingredients that are also used for Schnapps.

Early in the morning, all sorts of delicious smells emanate from the restaurant’s wood-fired oven. And if you’re there around noon, you might bump into a couple of llamas on the terrace – you can go on a llama safari in Fieberbrunn! The kitchen serves up rustic Tyrolean cuisine.

The Pulvermacher-Scherm mountain restaurant opened after the inauguration of the Tirol S gondola and is located right at the junction between the Saalbach and Fieberbrunn ski resorts. If you’re crazy about schnitzel, then you have to make a pilgrimage to the Sonnalm at the Reiterkogel, where large, crispy slabs of meat await you. Besides schnitzel the Sonnalm also serves soups, burgers and charcuterie – and, of course, traditional Austrian käsespätzle, schweinhaxe, and Tyrolean gröstl.
